The fourth candle is lit

Today we lit the fouth candle on our Avent wreath. I love this wreath, I received it from my friend Kay. Have a look at her blog and her beautiful decorated house. I hope to meet her one day.

I also received a vase from her for forcing flower bulbs. I was very lucky to find a few more vases at a local gardening store and the bulbs are cooling in the refrigerator. If everything goes well, I will be showing you some photos of my flowering hyacinths next year.

Andrea, my beautiful and so talented crafter friend is busy crocheting her wonderfully warm scarves. She is making me one for Christmas and I have ordered two more for gifts.

Enjoy the season!...See you soon and stay warm!

  2. Hello Heidi,
Thank you for stopping by my blog. It's nice to "meet" you. :) It's great to read along and rediscover places I'm familiar with. I love the Lafayette area...and Peaceful Greens looks amazing. Your Gracie looks like a sweetheart. What a gentle face! Our Edith came from "Almost Home" too (See Edith & Murray on my sidebar). Anyway...I've really enjoyed visiting your blog and I'm glad you stopped by to say, "Hello".

  3. Good evening Heidi!
I am so happy you visited me today! I am originally a Hoosier gal! I've lived in Minnesota a longer time though, but I still have lots of family there.
Oh, Hyacinths! We love those! My son just can't get enough of them! We planted several more this past fall. Your home will smell wonderful!
Your advent wreath is very pretty! I look foward to getting to know you!
    Have a very Merry Christmas!
    Blessings,
    Renee

  4. Heidi,
Can't wait to get working on your scarves. Thanks for blogging about me and sending me the wonderful Christmas present. I've got a house to clean because the in-laws are coming for a visit.

  5. Oh this is such a great reminder for me to pick up some bulbs to force, haven't remembered to do this for a while. The hyacinths will smell so dreamy, I have never forced them as I usually just do the narcisis (sp?) paperwhites! Merry Christmas! ~Lili
