Pretty Things

I was the winner of a giveaway by Nancy from a Rural Journal. Nancy lives on an 80-acre farm in eastern Nebraska. What a surprise when the package arrived. I received a red organza and silver chain necklace with a sterling silver cherries charm, a black mini-moleskin journal, a handmade "This Mommy Makes Pretty Babies" magnet, and some wonderful handmade lye soap by Nancy. Thank you! I love it all.

Shenandoah Farm Market

When we vacationed in the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia last November we came across the

 Shenandoah Farm Market. What a wonderful place. They have year-round fresh local produce and  follow natural sustainable earth friendly practices. They take pride in their unique little store. It is owned by Allen and Debbie Sinclair and operated with the help of excellent personalized service staff.

They are located on Orkney Grade in Mount Jackson. If you are in the area stop by and browse. They also feature many items from different local artists. A wonderful and unique place.

Panera

We had lunch at Panera Bread. With it being so cold, soup and sandwich was just what we needed. Trying to continue to eat really healthy this year, so Panera was just right, with it being the healthiest fast food Restaurant in the US. Try it, if you have never been there. They also have a fantastic breakfast menu (spinach souffle) and their coffee is delicious. You also might want to take home some of their bagels, they are very yummy.

We received at least 4 inches of snow today and by the end of the week the temperatures will go down way below zero Fahrenheit. Brrrrr....

Only three weeks left and my nephew from Paris will come for a visit on his way to San Diego. Looking sooooooo forward to it.

Serenity.....(at Hollywood Beach)

On our vacation in December to Florida we spent a late afternoon/evening at the famous Broadwalk in Hollywood. It is one of the best beaches in the country. The promenade stretches for more than two miles and there is something there for everyone. We had a wonderful greek meal at one of the many beachside restaurants there and this was our view.
