Christmas at the Vintage Store

Festive decorations at the vintage store.
Are you done already decorating your house?
No tree for us this year, we are keeping it simple.
Lots of other decorations though.
Have a look at my friend Kay's tree.
She always has a beautiful vintage one.

Let Christmas not become a thing
Merely of merchant's trafficking,
Of tinsel, bell and holly wreath
And surface pleasure, but beneath
The childish glamour, let us find
Nourishment for soul and mind.
Let us follow kinder ways
Through our teeming human maze,
And help the age of peace to come
From a Dreamer's martyrdom.

My fur babies

 Gracie

 Lucy

Had a photo session with the fur kids.
Gracie is the perfect model.
Lucy on the other hand does not care much for the camera.
They are so different.

Going on a little vacation tomorrow.
Will be back in a week.

Wishing everyone in the States a Happy Thanksgiving.

Squiggles

Squiggles
Lucy, Gracie, Squiggles

Our foster furbaby Squiggles arrived at our house two weeks ago.
She came from the Almost Home Humane Society in Lafayette, Indiana,
the same place where we adopted Gracie and Lucy from.
She fit right in.
Squiggles is about 8 years old.
She must have had a family at one time, because she is very well mannered.
But I guess, they did not want her anymore.
Taking three of them for a walk is a lot of fun.
I hope someone will see what a sweet dog she is and adopt her.
She deserves a loving forever home.

We are going on a big trip soon.
Can't wait.
Will tell you more later.

Enjoy your weekend!

Happy Easter

Easter spells out beauty, the rare beauty of new life. ~S.D. Gordon

See the land, her Easter keeping,
Rises as her Maker rose.
Seeds, so long in darkness sleeping,
Burst at last from winter snows.
Earth with heaven above rejoices... ~Charles Kingsley

Raven's Roost

Lots of Fire-King

Raven's Roost is another vintage, antiques, and auction gallery in Lafayette.
Took a little stroll through there yesterday and took these pics for you.
Hope you enjoy looking at them!
It is a rather large place and one could spend hours there browsing.
They have a little bit of everything.

Well, guess what.
Another snow storm is on the way tomorrow.
I have had enough! No more!!!...
Better enjoy the lovely Spring day we are having today.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

What a great idea.
Seen on a porch in downtown Lafayette.
One of these days I will stop by in the evening, when it is all lit up.

At Grandma's

Two little boys went to their grandparents' place for Christmas. At bedtime, the youngest one began to pray at the top of his lungs.

"I PRAY FOR A NEW BICYCLE...
I PRAY FOR A NEW BICYCLE...
I PRAY FOR A NEW BICYCLE..."

The older brother exclaimed, "Why are you shouting? Do you thing God is deaf." The little one promptly replied, "Nope! But Grandma certainly is!"

Have a great start of the new week.
~ ~ ~
We are enjoying temps in the 70's right now. Windows open in December, no heavy winter jacket to wear, how wonderful is that.
