Apple Orchard

The weather is still nice, so we took a trip to the apple orchard. Had a great time there. Tasted hot cider and different kinds of apple butter and took a variety of apples home and they are yummy!

In less than a week we will be going on vacation. Can't wait, but so much to do yet...

Pumpkin Patch

We went to the Pumpkin Patch on Saturday. It was a beautiful day, lots of people looking for that special Jack-O-Lantern. Kids had the most fun, especially getting a ride around the farm.

I was busy this past weekend getting all my houseplants transplaned and back into the house. Now it feels a bit crowded. It's always nice when Spring comes and most of them go outside.

Still blooming

We are having a gorgeous Fall and I am enjoying it. Still wearing summer clothes and it is the middle of October. I don't mind if it would stay like this for a little (long) while longer. My favorite season is Summer.

Reading Elizabeth Berg's new book "Once Upon a Time, There Was You" right now and I can't put it down. I have read all of her books. She is a great author.

Last of the Harvest

It's the last vegetable harvest this season from my container garden. It was a bit chilly last night, so the only thing left outside are my herbs.

It looks like the Hummingbirds are getting ready to fly south.... I hate to see summer go....

The little songs of summer are all gone today.
The little insect instruments are all packed away:
The bumblebee's snare drum, the grasshopper's guitar,
The katydid's banjo, the cricket's violin,
The dragonfly's cello have ceased their merry din.
Oh, where is the orchestra?  From harpist down to drummer
They've all disappeared with the passing of the summer.
